PortAid.com is operated out of a personal need to maintain a reliable reference of Container Port Authorities and Terminal Operators around the world. There are other sites on the web providing a similar service but not so focussed on Container Terminals and as a result tend not to be so reliable in accuracy. The site is established by an engineer with a background in the port equipment manufacturing industry who recently took on roles in developing ports to assist in the equipment maintenance function. The intention is to develop the site as a non profit making resource for port engineers but with this initial useful reference for Container Terminals.

We value our readers input, all messages are answered and we look forward to receiving your views or suggestions for new content. Ports are fascinating places to work but they are few and far between, most countries only have one or two major container terminals so it’s difficult for port engineers to share their experiences and learn from others. We at PortAid.com hope this site will become a forum to assist in this networking function. If you are experiencing repeating problems with equipment such as Quay Cranes, RTG’s, Reachstackers, Spreaders or have an idea or engineering solution to share we’d love to hear from you.
